1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Tyga.Cloud Ltd (Company No. 14643275), trading as Cacheroo, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use cacheroo.com and the Cacheroo dashboard (collectively, the "Site").

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data more broadly.

We keep our use of cookies minimal and purposeful. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The cookies we set are strictly necessary for the Site to function or are functional cookies that remember your preferences.

2. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site operators.

Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the site you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a different domain). They can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (stored on your device until they expire or you delete them).

Local Storage and Session Storage are similar browser technologies that allow websites to store data locally in your browser. We use localStorage for certain preferences. References to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies where applicable.

3. Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to function. Without them, you cannot use core features such as logging in or maintaining a secure session. These cookies do not require consent under applicable cookie laws because the Site cannot function without them.

  • Session Cookie: Maintains your authenticated session after you log in to the dashboard. This is a first-party, session cookie that is deleted when you close your browser or when your session expires.
  • CSRF Token: A security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. It ensures that form submissions and API calls from the dashboard originate from the legitimate Site. This is a first-party cookie tied to your session.

3.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences and choices to provide a more personalised experience. They are not strictly necessary but improve usability. We set these using localStorage, which persists until you clear your browser data.

  • Theme Preference (landing-mode): Remembers whether you prefer dark mode or light mode on the landing page and legal pages. Stored in localStorage. Values: dark or light.
  • Sidebar State: Remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsed. Stored in localStorage. This preference persists across sessions so the dashboard layout matches your preference each time you return.

3.3 Analytics Cookies

We do not currently use any analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or tracking service. If we introduce analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required.

3.4 Advertising Cookies

We do not use any advertising or marketing cookies. We do not serve ads on the Site, and we do not use cookies for retargeting, behavioural advertising, or cross-site tracking.

4. Third-Party Cookies

4.1 Stripe

When you interact with payment forms on the Site (such as subscribing to a paid plan or completing the $1 card verification), Stripe may set cookies on your device. Stripe uses these cookies for fraud prevention, payment processing, and to comply with financial regulations.

Stripe's cookies are third-party cookies set by Stripe's domain. We do not control Stripe's cookies. For details on Stripe's cookie practices, see Stripe's Cookie Policy.

Stripe cookies are only loaded when you access payment-related pages. They are not present on the landing page, documentation, or other non-payment pages.

4.2 No Other Third-Party Cookies

Apart from Stripe, we do not embed any third-party services that set cookies. We do not use social media widgets, embedded videos, chat services, or advertising networks that would place third-party cookies on your device.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

5.1 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. The following links provide instructions for common browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

5.2 localStorage

To clear localStorage data (theme preference, sidebar state), you can:

  • Use your browser's developer tools (F12, then Application/Storage tab)
  • Clear all site data through your browser's privacy settings

5.3 Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you disable strictly necessary cookies (session and CSRF), you will not be able to log in to the dashboard or use authenticated features of the Service. The landing page, documentation, and public pages will continue to work.

If you clear functional cookies/localStorage, your theme preference will reset to dark mode and the sidebar will return to its default state. This does not affect the functionality of the Service.

6. Cookie Table

The following table lists all cookies and similar storage used by the Site:

Name Type Purpose Duration Party
connect.sid Strictly Necessary Maintains your authenticated session after login Session (expires on browser close or session timeout) First-party
_csrf Strictly Necessary CSRF protection token to prevent cross-site request forgery Session First-party
landing-mode Functional (localStorage) Stores your dark/light theme preference Persistent (until cleared) First-party
sidebar-collapsed Functional (localStorage) Stores your dashboard sidebar collapsed/expanded preference Persistent (until cleared) First-party
__stripe_mid Fraud Prevention Stripe fraud detection and payment processing 1 year Third-party (Stripe)
__stripe_sid Fraud Prevention Stripe session-level fraud detection 30 minutes Third-party (Stripe)

This table is accurate as of the effective date. We will update it if we add or remove cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.

If we introduce new categories of cookies (such as analytics cookies), we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required by applicable law before setting those cookies.
